NEPA Breweries: Berwick Brewing Company

Welcome to NEPA Breweries, a series where we visit breweries in Northeastern PA as well as a few just a short drive away. This month, we’re visiting Berwick Brewing Company.

At just a 45-minute drive, Berwick is a stone’s throw away from Wilkes-Barre. This month, we took a drive to visit Berwick Brewing Co.

Brewing in Berwick

Berwick Brewing Co, located at 328 W. Front St. in Berwick, PA, first opened its doors in 2008. Located in the former Vaughn’s Bakery, the brewery features a bar, plenty of seating, live music, and events throughout the year.

Live music is offered every Friday and Saturday from 7–11 pm. They showcase both local and traveling artists for your enjoyment. And what pairs better with live music than good food and drink? Just add good company and you’re setting yourself up for a great night.

Weather-permitting, Berwick Brewing Co. offers a Biergarten that overlooks the Susquehanna River. Their beer selection ranges from their Berwick I.P.A to the Grumpy Bill’s Porter. They offer a selection of year-round beers and rotate out seasonal and specialty beers as well.

You can check out their beer list here!

At any given time, you can find up to 25 different beers available at the brewery. Their fun chalkboard presentation creates a homey atmosphere that you just can’t beat. Take your favorite beer home with you by filling up a growler, or even beer’s newest craze—a CROWLER. Beers are also available in kegs and a selection of 12 oz bottles to go.

Food here pairs well with beer

Hand-tossed pizza with mushrooms, sausage, and Spanish onions.

I’m a big foodie, and Berwick Brewing Co. does not disappoint in this department.

Berwick Brewing Co. prides themselves on using quality ingredients in everything from their beer to their pizza,  and boy is it good. Located in an area with plenty of pizza shops, their pizza shines. All are hand-tossed to create thin crusts and topped with everything from fresh Wisconsin cheese curds to pepperoni.

If you’re looking to pair your beer with a soft pretzel, you have some fantastic toppings to choose from as well: salt, a coating of cinnamon and sugar, or enjoy a filled pretzel that has been baked with pieces of Jalapeno peppers in the dough. Weekend specials include poutine (if you know me, you know that this is my weakness), cheese curds, and fries. Weekly chef choice specials are available as well.

Everything is absolutely delicious here!

If you’re looking to enjoy some good beer in the comfort of your own home, you can find their beer at establishments across our area. See where you can find it near you here!

In addition to their beer, you can enjoy locally-made wine from Shade Mountain Winery, and sodas from Catawissa Bottling Co., making Berwick Brewing Co. the perfect place to take the whole family.

Last month we visited Benny Brewing Co. in Hanover Twp. Check it out here!
