Celebrate National Homemade Soup Day with the Soup Chic and Chic Chic Marketplace

There’s simply nothing more comforting than a warm, homemade cup of soup. Soup is a go-to meal planning staple, especially during the cold winter months of the year, and I’m happy to say there’s a national celebratory day where we can all join together to celebrate soup!

On Monday, February 4, we’re celebrating National Homemade Soup Day by supporting one of the many amazing local businesses in our area: The Soup Chic.

What is National Homemade Soup Day?

Soup, in many cultures, has a healing property. For any ailment you may have, there is a soup out there to help soothe your soul. Years ago, soup used to be specific to regions based on the foods they had available and grew locally.

However, today we can celebrate any culture by making their traditional soups in our own homes. Take to Pinterest or any local book store and you’ll find scores of recipes and recipe books dedicated to soups.

Visiting The Soup Chic and Chic Chic Marketplace

Having started by selling homemade salads, soups, and specialty items at the farmer’s market, the Soup Chic has found a place in the heart NEPA residents. They worked closely with local farmers and producers and wanted to connect them with the people of our area and opened their brick and mortar location in November of 2016.

Check out Chic Chic Marketplace on Home and Backyard and learn how to make their Chorizo, Kale and Potato Soup:

That’s when Chic Chic Marketplace was born. Their online marketplace connects customers with local growers and producers so that they can buy local produce, meats, dairy, and more! They also offer delivery service to certain areas and have a location in the Marketplace at Steamtown.

Specializing in local, scratch-made foods, Chic Chic marketplace features a rotating menu each week based on what’s fresh! You can also order catering from Chic Chic Marketplace and The Soup Chic for any event.
