There’s simply nothing more comforting than a warm, homemade cup of soup. Soup is a go-to meal planning staple, especially during the cold winter months of the year, and I’m happy to say there’s a national celebratory day where we can all join together to celebrate soup!
On Monday, February 4, we’re celebrating National Homemade Soup Day by supporting one of the many amazing local businesses in our area: The Soup Chic.
Soup, in many cultures, has a healing property. For any ailment you may have, there is a soup out there to help soothe your soul. Years ago, soup used to be specific to regions based on the foods they had available and grew locally.
However, today we can celebrate any culture by making their traditional soups in our own homes. Take to Pinterest or any local book store and you’ll find scores of recipes and recipe books dedicated to soups.
Having started by selling homemade salads, soups, and specialty items at the farmer’s market, the Soup Chic has found a place in the heart NEPA residents. They worked closely with local farmers and producers and wanted to connect them with the people of our area and opened their brick and mortar location in November of 2016.
