Community Spotlight: The Back Mountain

At the heart of the Back Mountain, you’ll find remarkable culture in an incredible community.

The Back Mountain region is located northwest of Wyoming Valley and offers plenty of restaurants, shopping centers, schools, and recreational activities. It encompasses several municipalities including Dallas Township, Dallas Borough, Shavertown, Trucksville, Harvey’s Lake Borough, and Lehman Township. Spectacular mountain views and beautiful countrysides surround those living in or visiting the Back Mountain.


The Back Mountain offers plenty of dining options including, The Beaumont Inn, North Slope Brewing, Damien’s on the Lake, Fire and Ice on Toby Creek, J&J Deli, Overbrook Restaurant, Villa Roma, Leggio’s, Tomasino’s, Lum’s Fernbrook Inn, CK’s Authentic Mexican Food, Asaki, Palace of Indian, Grotto Pizza, Hogan’s Heroes & Pizza, Pizza Perfect, and III Guys Restaurant and Sport’s Bar. Back Mountain Trail

Go on a nature-filled hike on the Back Mountain Trail. Visitors start the 5-mile hike with a waterfall and enjoy scenic views overlooking the area. The trail was originally built by lumber and ice king Albert Lewis of Wyoming Valley 115 years ago and used to be a railroad.
